Following the footsteps of the French charity, Oscar’s Angels Italia started its activity in Italy in 2018.
Emphasizing an innovative approach, Oscar’s Angels Italia promotes in-hospital support for families with children and teenagers suffering from complex medical conditions. Their services cover a range of units, including pediatric neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, neurology, and intensive and palliative care.
Volunteers of Oscar’s Angels Italia undergo continuous and multidisciplinary training, empowering them to provide families with support even in times of crisis. Their pioneering role has been recognized by the hospital community for its uniqueness and emphasis on human value.
An Ethics and Scientific Committee consisting of specialists, experts, and healthcare professionals supports Oscar’s Angels Italia. This committee acts as an advisory and supportive body to the Executive Board and serves as the organization’s liaison with the scientific and academic communities. The committee assists the Association in research work and collaborates with the Executive Board on educational and public initiatives. Committee members are available to answer patients’ queries and validate documents, and they may participate in online discussion forums and on the Association’s website.
